چکیده

This paper presents a strategy to evaluate the performances of converter stations under optimized operating points hybrid AC-DC power systems with reduced number DC link variables. Compared previous works reported five DC-side control variables (CVs), uniqueness presented optimal flow (OPF) formulation lies within selection only two such as inverter voltage and current in link, apart from conventional AC-side Previous research has mainly been focused on optimizing system performance through OPF-based formulations, but mostly ignored associated performances. Hence, this study, performance, terms ripple harmonics AC utilization infrastructure, is evaluated. The minimization active loss taken an objective function, problem solved for modified IEEE 30 bus using recently developed very efficient Archimedes optimization algorithm (AOA). Case studies are performed assess efficacy OPF model systems, well performance. Furthermore, results extended applicability proposed allocation photovoltaic (PV)-type distributed generations (DGs) systems. average improvement found be around 7.5% compared results. approximate 10% factor 50% reduction achieved.

A Natural ZVS Medium-Power Bidirectional DC–DC Converter With Minimum Number of Devices

This paper introduces a new bidirectional, isolated dc–dc converter. A typical application for this converter can be found in the auxiliary power supply of hybrid electric vehicles. A dual half-bridge topology has been developed to implement the required power rating using the minimum number of devices. Unified zero-voltage switching was achieved in either direction of power flow with neither a...

Modified Bi-directional AC/DC Power Converter with Power Factor Correction

Most existing power  converters and industrial motor drive systems draw non-sinusoidal currents from the supply. Non-sinusoidal currents contained harm harmonics disturb the power supply which it causes serious concern for reliability. Other equipments that use the same power supply are adversely affected. This paper suggests the operation and performance of a new modified AC/DC converter that ...

Load Flow Analysis of Hybrid AC-DC Power System with Offshore Wind Power

The offshore wind power has received immense attention because of higher wind speed and lower opposition for construction. A wide range of combinations of high-voltage ACDC transmission have been proposed for integrating offshore wind farms and long-distance power transmission. This paper is to model such hybrid AC-DC systems including the interfacing converters, which have several control para...

Supercapacitors in power converter DC link

Very high values of efficiency in electric power conversion, electric energy saving requirements and power converter component optimization are priorities in design and construction of any type of modern power electronic converters. Flexible Control of Power Flow in Multiterminal DC Grids Using DC-DC Converter

This paper proposes an efficient control framework that utilizes de-de converters to achieve flexible power flow control in multiterminal de (MTDC) grids. The de-de converter employed in this paper is connected in cascade with the de transmission line, and is therefore named cascaded power flow controller (CPFC). In this paper, a two-layer control strategy is developed for the operation and con...
